Diane says, ‘I am a Florida born native, Miami to be exact’. Diane was born in the city, and raised in the country, ‘I’m a real City Girl, with a Country Heart’.
Diane is the only child of a broken family, and her life was in many ways, less than ordinary. At a very young age, Diane became the fencing tool, for a happy young couple in love, when they discovered, the rhythm method of their birth control, that tapped to the tune on their love struck drum, had missed a beat.
And lo and behold, a baby girl was born.
Diane was a quiet but a passionate child, and her passion bubbled over as she entertained imaginary audiences and choreographed her own dance routines. She dazzled the crowd of one too many stuffed animals, to the boppin’ Motown sound of Diana Ross and the Supremes, while she sang into her hairbrush behind a closed door.
Diane loved the stage, but her career was cut short as a young child. Her debut as Alice In Wonderland, at six years of age, left Diane longing to be ‘on stage. ‘It was a shining, but short lived moment’, Diane said. I absolutely knew, that was where I wanted to be, ‘on stage,’ I felt alive.’
Life was a constant challenge for Diane, as she grew into adulthood. Plagued by illness, her mother spent most of her years, in and out of the hospital. She saw her father on and off throughout the years, a child of divorce, and the ping pong ball syndrome…dad this month, mom that month…Diane’s life was rather dizzying, and any remote possibility of a career on the stage had vanished, and left Diane with what seemed like insurmountable challenges, which proved too much at times for a child to handle.
Many years and careers had past. Diane endeavored in a multitude of entrepreneurial interests, from, medical professional, advertising marketing professional, model, actor, real estate sales professional, and what she thought was her last career stop, came in a personal interest, to find a solution to her own lifelong healing crisis.
Diane then became a Licensed Massage Therapist, and began to study various methods of healing, body mind and spirit. She has been a key note speaker for the AMTA, (American Massage Therapy Association) as well as others, such as the ACS, (American Cancer Society and the ADA, (American Diabetic Association) and spoken about the power of touch, and intention in facilitating healing.
Diane says, ‘I have enjoyed, and had much success in my varied fields of interest, but I felt completely exhausted, in what seemed like a constant and chronic, fight to be well. Genetics had dealt a tough hand of cards, and Diane and two generations of family members suffered the agony of fighting an invisible and long misunderstood beast of the mind, known as bi-polar disorder, as well as other genetic deficiencies.
‘I was seeking a resolution to my dis-ease, and longed to have a life that would be deeply and spiritually fulfilling. Diane says, I didn’t become a massage therapist to give massages, I became a massage therapist to learn about my own healing journey, and how the vital use of modalities like massage, have the ability to help heal in ways I had not previously experienced with traditional therapies.’
This pathway, impassioned Diane in an intuitive understanding, that there is a connection that unites each of us, a connection she calls God, and A Lord and Savior she calls, Jesus Christ, an energy that surpasses what any word could attempt, as explanation for the bodies miraculous ability to heal itself, in ways we could not possibly imagine, nor in any way explain.
This link, she found revealed itself in a multitude of ways, that to her was an expression of faith, and a daily practice in a conscious awareness of giving and receiving energy, in and with everything that had energy, and EVERYTHING has energy.
This journey for Diane, had integrated the thread between Western and Eastern medicinal treatments, and here began an understanding, of the unlimited possibilities to heal, by our faith in Jesus Christ.
After years of searching, and finding a myriad of tools, in the practice of medicine, combining both traditional and non-traditional, Diane has found that the common denominator in any type of treatment moving into healing, body, mind and spirit, is the energetic exchange of peace, and an expression of love. As the bible says, These three things will last forever, faith, hope, and love and the greatest of these is love.
Diane had lived a lifetime, with much physical and emotional pain, and was just beginning to understand how the power of love, really does have the ability to heal.
Fear raised its ugly head one more time. And just when she thought all the pieces had been put into place, and her body and mind began to heal, and become stronger than ever before, silently came one last dark night of the soul, that almost extinguished her spirit here on earth.
She begged for forgiveness, and prayed for God to show her the way, to reveal to her what the next step would be, how she would be of service to mankind, in her time here on earth.
And that’s when a little girl who sang into her hairbrush and wished upon a star one dark night, so very long ago, was reborn; her name is ‘Dee Dee’.
Diane says, ‘All of these things have made the difference, in my desire to live, the quality of my life, and my ability to effectively share my experiences, in positive ways with others, to make a profound difference in people’s lives. So many of you have made a difference in my life, and I hope I may do the same for you.’
And, that’s when God began to give her words, and music, and a whole new glorious life of song, and the rest you can say, is well, you know, history.
