Welcome to my home away from home.
“I believe there comes a day we have to decide,
if we want to continue dreaming our dreams, or begin to live them.”
Here I am in my favorite place to hang out, and that’s my producer Frank. I sing to him, together we make beautiful music.
This is by far the hardest thing I have ever done, and the most gratifying. I walked into a studio one day a couple of years ago, and now have written over 40 songs and recorded 14. Talk about how life really can change 180 degrees.
When I started at the studio, I was just there to see what it was like to record a song. I told Frank the story of a little girl named Dee Dee, who fell in love with music and the stage when she was 6 and played as ‘Alice in Wonderland’. He said, ‘You gotta be Dee Dee again’. He encouraged me to revive her, so here she is. I mean here I am.
My First CD! You bet I am excited. Making music has helped me learn to color outside the lines. I am beginning to understand there are no rules when it comes to creativity. Just feel what is in you heart, and express it in whatever way your gift comes to you.
I could never imagine writing and recording my own music. I felt pretty foolish at first. What am I doing? I am beginning a career in music? At MY age?
I figure what the heck, I’ve got this one life to live, and I gotta get these words out of my head before I go completely insane. ‘I have been through my own personal fire, I respect the flame , and my songs are a compilation of my life experience.’ Now I cannot imagine, NOT making music.
I have a lot of people to thank for helping me get here. I mean, life can throw some pretty mean curve balls, and I wasn’t real sure if I’d make it.
I think God really does have a sense of humor. He hooked me up with a woman I met on ‘facebook’ named Diane L Fisher, she has built my website and become a treasured friend. Then, also from ‘facebook’, I met a man by the name of ready? His name is, Steve Martin, seriously. He played my first song at 365 Live and he and a friend of his named Jimmy Lawson, at Space Coast Radio, played my first CD and interviewed me.
What an amazing journey life is, so don’t you ever give up, cause you never know when God has a dream come true waiting for you. Focus on what you want and don’t ever stop until you get there.
“I am grateful to be of service to God through my music.
I never know how he will get the message to me.
I just try to listen, write and record what I hear.”
